Rustins Decking Oil

Rustins Decking Oil is a hard-wearing, water resistant oil that retains the colour of the decking. It contains UV light inhibitors and biocides which protects the oil from mould and algae growth

Type A blend of oils, resins and driers, with added UV absorbers and biocide to protect the oil from mould.

Intended Use Timber decks and can also be used for all types of exterior wood, and wooden garden furniture. 

Special Features Brings out the natural beauty of wood. Easy to apply and maintain. 

Preparation The bare wood must be clean, smooth, dry, and free of dust and contaminants. Rustins Decking Cleaner can be used to clean the surface. Do not apply to damp timber as this will prevent the oil from penetrating the timber and adhering causing it to flake off. 

Application Apply liberally with a clean brush allowing 4-8 hours between coats. Do not apply if rain is expected. 

Apply 3 Coats

Drying Time 4-8 hours, depending on temperature & Humidity. 

Re-coating Time 4-8 hours, depending on temperature & Humidity. 

Application Temp. Ideally 15-25°C but do not apply below 5°C. 

Coverage About 12 sq.m per litre per 1 coat. 

Maintenance Periodic re-oiling is required. When applying to previously oiled wood the surface should be cleaned thoroughly and be free from contaminants. 

Compatibility May be used over existing oil based finishes but test for compatibility with a small test area first. 

Settlement SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. 

Shelf-life/Storage Many years if stored in original, tightly closed container in cool, dry conditions. 

Hazards Flammable. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Use in a well ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from sources of ignition – no smoking. Keep container tightly closed. A full Safety Data Sheet is available upon request or on www.rustins.co.uk . 

Clean-Up Clean brushes with white spirit or Rustin’s Brush Cleaner whilst still wet. Hard brushes can be cleaned with Rustin’s Brush Restorer.
